A Bright Light in Las Vegas
When Meredith Miller, SHRM-SCP, Director of Human Resources at Dualite, stepped into the Mandalay Bay Convention Center for the ISA Sign Expo, she was struck by more than just the Vegas lights. "It was truly awe-inspiring," she said. "The sheer scale of the event, paired with the incredible innovation on display, immediately filled me with pride to be part of such a dynamic industry."
Representing Dualite and the signage HR community as part of the prestigious ISA Elite Class of 2025, Meredith wasn’t just attending—she was representing an often-overlooked side of the industry as HR professionals in signage. As the only HR professional selected this year, her presence underscored just how vital people and culture are to the future of the sign industry.
Connected Across Departments, United in Vision
One of Meredith’s biggest takeaways? The unexpected camaraderie. "What surprised me most was how quickly we bonded as a group," she shared. "Even though I was the only HR professional, I never felt like an outsider."
Instead, she discovered how deeply interconnected each role is—whether in production, sales, design, or operations. Everyone came to the table with unique insights and left with a renewed sense of purpose and connection.
A New Lens on Leadership
Meredith’s involvement in the ISA Elite program helped reshape how she sees her role at Dualite. "I walked away feeling more than just an HR leader—I left feeling like a sign industry professional," she said.
The program also strengthened her leadership confidence. "This experience has deepened my confidence, broadened my perspective, and sparked a desire to continue growing as both a people leader and a signage industry professional."
The Role of HR in Shaping the Industry
As the signage industry grows and evolves, HR’s place within it becomes increasingly essential. From developing talent pipelines to building cultures of trust and innovation, HR leaders are critical to shaping how companies serve both clients and employees.
"My contributions through HR aren’t peripheral—they’re central to the success and evolution of the companies we serve," Meredith explained. "Programs like ISA Elite are helping make that clearer industry-wide."
The Value of Programs Like ISA Elite
According to Meredith, ISA Elite isn’t just about professional growth—it’s about laying the foundation for the future. "It builds a network of professionals who aren’t just prepared to lead—they’re invested in each other’s success and in the industry's continued evolution."
She encourages future applicants to go all in. "Be open, be curious, and bring your whole self to the experience," she said. "Whether you're in HR, production, sales, or design, your voice matters."
Vegas Vibes and Dualite Moments
Of course, it wouldn’t be a complete trip without some Las Vegas memories. "One of the highlights for me was just getting a break from the rainy weather back in Cincinnati," Meredith laughed. "And the Sphere? Even from the outside—it was surreal."
Between catching up on work from a hotel room with stunning desert views stretching to the horizon and exploring the expo floor with fellow Dualite teammates, the experience blended inspiration with connection. "Vegas brings out a fun side in everyone. It was great to connect with the team in a more relaxed environment."
Looking Ahead
With ISA Elite 2025 under her belt, Meredith has her eyes on what’s next: "I'm looking forward to the upcoming Leadership Summit this October at ISA Headquarters in Alexandria, VA."
Back at Dualite, she’s focused on deepening the partnership between HR and operations and continuing to mentor the next generation of industry talent. "I’m especially committed to strategic workforce development and helping new professionals grow into confident, capable leaders."
Final Thoughts
Meredith summed it up best: "Being selected as an ISA Elite member from among hundreds of applicants was an incredible honor. It’s something I’ll carry with me as a milestone in my career—and a reminder of how powerful our roles are, no matter where we sit within the organization."
