WELCOME:

The Paint Mixer and Color Match Specialist is the individual that mixes the paint (or dyes or inks) to create a color formula that matches the client specification before our production team applies the color to our product. This color specialist is a member of the Research and Development Team and will be referred to a "Research Coordinator".

SUMMARY:

The Research Coordinator works with the Manager of Research and Development and the Production team to formulate, test, and replicate color processes for client specification. This includes but is not limited to color for client ink, paint, and dyes and process for application. The position follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure it is as efficient and safe as possible.

Shift and schedule

4x10, 10 hour shift, No weekends, No nights, Day shift, Weekends & holidays off

  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and work with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at a time
  • Demonstrates ability to accurately match and blend color to a high standard
  • Proven understanding of UV paint properties
  • Proficient in identifying, developing, and instituting processes related to the paint process
  • Detail oriented, and organizational skills are a must

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach and lift items weighing up to 50lbs. The position requires manual dexterity; the ability to match and distinguish differences between colors; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Mix paint, apply color to paint chips, color match the paint, and document the paint formulas used
  • Serve as subject matter expert for paint mixing and color matching. Including UV and Traditional and best practice for screening and curing.
  • Create and maintain a library of processes per internal SOP procedures.
  • Maintain paint inventory and manage department issuance.
  • Work closely with R&D Manager to develop and test new formulations and application processes.
  • Quality control of paint, ink, and dyes.
  • Vendor and supply relationship management including travel as required.
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives.
